Pastor Stanley W. Sanford

An excellent role model and man of character, Pastor Sanford received several awards including the Rowan Excellence Award, AAU Employee of the Month, and nominated for the 1997 Technician of the Year.  Directors and other leaders acknowledge him to be "dependable, trustworthy, respectful, responsible, fair, caring, and shows true citizenship always willing to tackle new tasks with enthusiasm and a glowing smile.  He can follow well and lead well."

The founder of Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth Church, and Co-founder of the Sanford Community Enrichment Center; Pastor Stanley Sanford was called into the ministry and preached his initial sermon on March 11, 2001.  He was a faithfully committed member of Holy Temple Church of God in Christ for 40 years where he served as Superintendent of Sunday School, a profound and prolific Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and a lead singer in the Male Chorus.  He served with sound faith and quiet strength, until he accepted his charge by God to branch forward in the work of the Lord starting the aforementioned ministries.  In 1999, he and his wife established the "Gain and Maintain a Healthy Marriage" organization conducting workshops and seminars to strengthen the bond of marriage.  Together they let the world know that just as there is a Proverbs 31 Woman, there is also an Ephesians 5 Man.  In 2017 he was appointed to the office of Assistant District Superintendent for the Danville District of the First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Virginia by the General Board Member Bishop Ted G. Thomas Sr. 

Pastor Sanford has been married to his lovely wife and childhood sweetheart First Lady, Dr. Irether R. Hatchett Sanford for 36 years.  He confirms that married couples can be friends and lovers, always stating, "It is not age or time that puts out a fire.  It is dormancy and neglect".  His marriage counseling sessions stand upon the principles of the Bible as well as the tips of keeping a marriage healthy by listing 50 ways to Keep the Sizzle in the Flames.  "After 30 plus years, we are still newlyweds.  True love never gets old."   Pastor Sanford's love for family is only surmounted by his love for God.  He and Lady Sanford are the honored parents of four adult children; a daughter, two sons, and a son-in-law.  

Elder Stanley W. Sanford is native born of Oxford, North Carolina to Brother John and Mother Lucy Sanford.  He attend South Granville High School and furthered his education in Theology at All Saints Bible College and the C.H. Mason College, Institute, and School of Theology; and in the medical field at Vance Granville Community College.  An employee of John Umstead Hospital/Central Regional for over thirty years, he retired in 2015 in the (HIM) Health Information Management Department as a Release Specialist, cross-trained in all areas of AAU HIM.
